Director Technical & Coordination
Muhammad Arshad is the Director Technical & Coordination at the Survey of Pakistan, where he leads the organization’s national and international technical initiatives, inter-agency coordination and policy alignment across government and defence sectors.
With an academic background in Earth Observation, Geoinformatics and Land Administration and an extensive experience in geospatial governance, mapping operations and institutional management, he oversees strategic coordination with internal Directorates and key government ministries including the Ministry of Defence, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Ministry of Interior.
He plays a pivotal role in strengthening the Survey of Pakistan’s external partnerships, representing the organization in international collaborations, conferences and memberships with global geospatial and mapping bodies. His leadership ensures that the organization’s international cooperation and technology exchange remain aligned with national priorities and global best practices.
In addition to his strategic responsibilities, Mr. Arshad supervises the evaluation and approval of high-value GIS projects for public and private sectors, manages technical protocols and agreements and facilitates professional training programs both domestically and abroad. He also oversees border management protocols, joint boundary surveys and cantonment mapping in accordance with national regulations.
